I can push this laptop into the ground when working with film or pro tools and I don't worry about it harming the system. You can tell that it's either getting strained a bit though. All you have to do is restart OBS, but it's an odd issue only affecting it with 60fps.ΔΆ9.97/30fps? Just fine. It works fine but after a few hours obs will start dropping your connection while everything else is fine. When going 60fps (Only on Future tone) I go NVENC just so I don't murder the processor. I am, however, extremely concerned with how hard it is being pushed. I have finally gotten it working and smooth. It has a couple small drawbacks that I want to try to fix but for the most part works like a charm (Just don't set your webcam for 1080p and just capture at 720.) I'm actually shocked at how well that worked. I got around this by buying a Thunderbolt converter that allows you to use both gigabit ethernet and USB 3.0 at the same time. Too much data and you will end up will all sorts of tears and sadness However, Since they share the same Bus you cannot use both the usb camera and the capture card at the same time in the usb. The mac will indeed run a 3.0 capture card. You will quickly run into a problem of having not enough options (This is from a laptop stand point in general, not just mac) IMPORTANT thing. You need to know that while Apple does have special drivers to let you use the mac's hardware and features in windows that it is in no way quite able to perform in any stellar fashion. What WILL work is if you nab a copy of Windows and use Boot Camp. Also, The software does not work and will corrupt windows 10 if you force it) and though it was compatible with OSX in reality it was crap software and less features that they threw in as an afterthought. My first card, an Avermedia Live Gamer Portable (Do not buy it. You'll run into a problem with OSX extremely quickly just in that very, very little is made to support it in the streaming world. I am currently trying to save for a PC as I am extremely worried of continuing to push this as hard. It's doable but you will run into problems often. I've been running my stream for almost a year on a late 2013 retina 2.7Ghz i7 with 16GB ram and a Gt750m Graphics card.
